As we work to help everyone find their place in the world, Compass Cares empowers agents and employees alike to support meaningful causes right where it counts most: at home. Compass Cares aims to contribute $10M in funds and skills-based volunteering to local organizations in 2019, with 100% of real estate transactions resulting in a donation to the community.
Home for a Home
Home for a Home's mission is to provide homes for those in need. They are a nonprofit organization driven by the belief that a safe, solid home can be the catalyst for dramatic and positive change in people's lives. When you purchase your home using the Marin Home Team, we donate a percentage of our commission to build a home for a family in critical need. With the commission from your home purchase, we’re funding the construction of safe, secure homes in the poorest area of highland Guatemala.
Kiddo!, the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation, is a nonprofit organization made up of parents, teachers, business people, and active members of the community who, since 1982, have raised tens of millions of dollars to supplement our limited school budgets. The Marin Home Team is a classroom sponsor each year. Kiddo! provides funds for our five elementary schools and middle school to support vital programs – including art, music, drama, poetry, dance, physical education and technology – as well as teacher grants and funding for classroom aides and library aides.
SF Marin Food Bank
The SF-Marin Food's Bank mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin County, and each holiday season the Marin Home Team donates to it. The food bank envisions a community where everyone is able to obtain enough nutritious food to support the health and well-being of themselves and their families. For some 225,000 people - from the southeast corner of San Francisco to the farthest points in West Marin - the Food Bank is a vital lifeline. Food makes it possible for kids to learn, for adults to focus better at work, and for seniors to stay healthy and active.
Mill Valley Public Library
The Marin Home Team is a supporter of the Mill Valley Library. The Library is nestled among the redwoods in an award-winning building and reflects the diverse intellectual and recreational interests of the community. Built in 1966, the 27,000-square-foot building contains hand-crafted furniture by Art and Tripp Carpenter and many original works of fine art, including oil-on-canvas works by Ray Strong and Ludmilla Welch. In 2015, the library was honored as one of the best small-town libraries in the U.S.
The Marin Home Team supports BuildOn, an organization that empowers U.S. urban youth to transform their neighborhoods and the world through intensive community service. Globally, they are constructing a new school every three days in some of the economically poorest countries around the world. The BuildOn movement is made up of passionate people from all walks of life who are committed to the belief that service and education can end poverty in our world. They are breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service learning programs in many of America’s most under-resourced high schools and by building schools in some of the world’s poorest villages.
Tam High Foundation
The Tam High Foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to deepen the educational experience of Tam students by funding programs and technology that help teachers use creativity, imagination and state-of-the-art tools to enhance their classroom teaching. The Marin Home Team is a sponsor each year. The programs the Tam High Foundation funds help give every Tam student the opportunity to discover his or her passion – whether it be history, drama, physics, journalism, art, creative writing, math, marine biology, automotive repair, music, poetry, documentary filmmaking, or something else. By doing this, the Foundation makes Tam more than just a top academic high school. It makes Tam an extraordinary experience.
